Only a couple days have passed and still not all of reality has sunk in. Each new monument is a little shocking, because when maps are fun non-necessity you are never mentally prepared for what you are going to see next.
Day 1: nothing- fog until the plane wheels touched the ground (suspense grows)
Day 2: Notre Dame
Day 3: Top few feet of the Eiffel Tower
Day 4: Side of the Louvre
But with all of these shocking surprises comes a curious discovery I made; and as funny/serious/ practical as it may be France has its fair share of metallic sidewalk bathrooms (payment required). I have yet to use one but will consider a follow up report...
Until then, let me share a little of the city with you, follow me :)
Next we saw Pompidou. This has an architecture like none other and holds inside it a museum, library, as well as some stores. There is also a building close by that has a sign for a community bath on it (...). While we are unsure if it is still in uses, I am sure we shall continue to explore and find out- don't stay up waiting though.
As far as today, we went on a tour down the Seine river- here are some of the views we saw...
These were some kids on the bank playing ping pong!
The statue of the Bastille
Well, hope you enjoyed the tour. I am off to bed but hope to take you on another journey soon!
